With food, music, heritage display, Latino-inspired art projects, crafts, and dancing children at Woods Road Elementary in North Babylon celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Oct. 4, according to a statement released by the school.

It was the 3rd annual “Latin Night” organized by the PTA for the school to recognize the “contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the United States and to celebrate Hispanic culture, including the long and important presence of Hispanic Americans in North America,” according to the statement.

On hand to help celebrate were Town of Babylon Councilman Antonio Martinez and Councilwoman, Jackie Gordon who presented the PTA with a Certificate of Appreciation for hosting the celebration.

The children were entertained by actor, Renoly Santiago, (Dangerous Minds, Con Air, Hackers.) who spoke with the children and the TKO Dance Academy from Queens, who performed salsa numbers for the crowd.
